Globe and Mail highlights importance of mental health training for regular citizens

The Globe and Mail recently published an article highlighting the importance of mental health training for regular citizens to help fill Canada’s therapy gap. Dr. Srividya Iyer was included in this article and spoke about how a better system of care can be achieved through using a holistic and grassroots approach involving laypeople with training, peer support workers and groups with shared experiences. A special note is made about how Indigenous communities, like Ulukhaktok, NWT already have a long history of supporting well-being through elders and knowledge-keepers. Read more here.
