This Commission is the result of multiple years of collaboration between more than 50 leading experts and young people from around the world and aimed to explore the evolving landscape of youth mental health, recognize both the risks and opportunities within it, and start identifying the major societal trends driving these changes.

The mental health of young people has been steadily declining over the past two decades, with the COVID-19 pandemic exacerbating this issue. Despite increasing awareness, global action is needed to address the underlying societal changes and risk factors. Early intervention, mental health promotion, and a shift in healthcare priorities are crucial for improving outcomes and protecting future generations.
